atquinn Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Anybody have a spare one lying around? I have a corroded low e Floyd saddle that I'd like to replace.-Austin
mattb Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I might have a couple. I'll look around. Also you can check allparts.com.-Matt
formula73 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I'm out of town this weekend, but I may have one. It might not be much prettier than yours, though.
atquinn Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 I'm not looking for anything perfect (it would be a bit glaring compared to the other saddles), but I'd like something a bit better than this if I can get it (pardon the blur )
BCR Greg Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Sand it even and hit it with Testors model paint.
atquinn Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Sand it even and hit it with Testors model paint.Sounds, doable. However, you're going to have to be more specfic because I'm stupid when it comes to this sort of thing. Can I use any sort of testors glossy paint, or should I be on the lookout for something specific? If I'm a lazy bastard, could I just sand it down and paint it over with some nail gloss (I'm not really too concerned with how it looks, but I don't want it cutting my hand or rusting up again if I sand it down). Thank you sensei.-Austin

Thank you sensei. -Austin Nail polish won't stick as well. Regular Testors black in the cute lil bottle will do well. Sand the rust off the part, wash it with a little paint thinner or naptha, and paint it with a small brush. Put on a coat, give it an hour, put on another. In the oven for 20 min on low heat to bake it on and you are done.
