Teh Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'm going all Koa Jumbo for my 12 string, so this one has to go. Grand Auditorium body size, flamed Maple back and sides with a great Sitka top. Ebony fretboard, bridge and headstock veneer with very cool anniversary inlay work. This is in outstanding condition and includes ES pickup system and OHSC. $2200 shipped to lower 48. Pics...:
tomteriffic Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Aaaw, jeebus, you would have to put this up now, huh? Oh well, if it's still around in April.....
Teh Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Aaaw, jeebus, you would have to put this up now, huh? Oh well, if it's still around in April..... I don't wanna sell it. It's a killer 12-banger! If I can get a bunch of other gear sold off (Tascam DA-78HR 8 track recorder, Alesis ADAT LX-20 recorder, Tascam DM-24 digital mixer with meter bridge, and an Avalon A101 Mahogany/Cedar acoustic), then she's gonna stick around a while. Problem is, I pulled the trigger on a Taylor K65ce all Koa jumbo 12 string over at Wildwood Guitars in Colorado (They're a Hamer dealer too) that's showing up on Wednesday. I've got a month to gather the cash to pay of the card. Otherwise, there will be major "Discussion" with my wife. I'd hate to ruin the holidays with a "discussion"...If it's still around then, I'll drop you a line...

Guest Meshuggah Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Will do, Tom. Oh Jeezus. Whattsa matter, ol' buddy? Sweet tooth kickin' in? Got a hankerin' fer somethin' Maple-licious?Taylor 12 strings are teh hotness! And it's the small body too. Would look right nice next to my Lemon Grove 555. Need all the hep I can muster to resist. Doesn't help I just dropped that much on a 25th anniversary trip to Jamaica mon.
Teh Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Between the Classic Mahogany 12-banger and the anniversary trip, you're golden on all fronts. No need for this guitar...
tomteriffic Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Jim, you snag this and I'll come over and whup on ya with the very last Lemon Grove guitar, an 812 custom, specially made for me. (And with the neck remade after the move to the new place). I don't have an acoustic 12 because my ta$te$ run to $tuff like thi$ beaut.
Teh Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Now on eBay...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1If you guys are seriously thinking about it, let me know. We can work something out pricewise...----------------Last Lemon Grove, Tom? Is it a standard EIR/Sitka or did you play with the woods? I'd love to see pics of that bad boy!!!
tomteriffic Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Oh well....It was EIR/Sitka, I played with the inlay and a custom trussrod cover. When it was about to leave Lemon Grove, Bob noticed the inlay wasn't right, and they took it with them to the new place (El Cajon??) and redid the fingerboard. Took me from February to September to get it.
Guest Meshuggah Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Heh. I bought my 555 for too dear a price, mostly because of puppy love. The neck was so warped and the body so checked, I had to take it home and cuddle it. Even though I was like the gazzillionth owner, Bob replaced the neck under warranty! All those years of shots to the body come through like a rippling cannon of mahogany lurv babee!
Teh Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 That 555 looks like a cannon! With the dot inlays you can tell she's got a few years behind her too. Bet it sounds fantastic...The Koa showed up a day early (Kudos UPS!!!). You guys are going to crap your pants when you see this thing. The most intense grain/flame combo I've ever seen. More importantly, the tone is dead-nuts on what I was hoping for! Pics tomorrow night...
