I've got an older IBM Thinkpad in my basement that has not seen the light of day for a few years. I'm not even sure what it was runnig. But I'll dig it out and see if it is something you could use.

awaiting delivery on a Latitude D600 (1.7 Pent M, XP Pro, 512mb, cd/dvd, 40gb drive for about $450 shipped with 4 months left on original warranty). should be plenty machine for email, surfing, and patch maintenence for my Line 6 gear (who wants to haul all that gear to the computer room for edits? lol)

www.delloutlet.com might also be a good place for new refurbs etc - just watch the warranty terms as they are shorter than new machines.

www.techbargains.com is always a good place to pick up on computer/parts deals. worth keeping an eye on.
