SouthernShred Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Ok, a friend of mine is selling his Deluxe Super Strat in Mary Kaye Blonde with tortoise shell pickguard. I've played this guitar and it's pretty darned nice. It's currently equipped with Lace Sensor Gold pickups, but he has the original pickguard and pickups available as well. The original pickups are Super Fat Strat with a button that does some funky switching. 9.5" radiues on the neck vs. 12" on the current Deluxe Players Strat which is the latest incarnation of this. He is selling the guitar with Fender Deluxe Gigbag for $500 shipped (Lower 48) with the Lace Sensor Golds or $400 shipped with the original pickguard/pickups installed. Email me @ [email protected] and I'll help broker the deal. This is a great deal on a great strat.
DavidE Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I had one of those. Beautiful guitar. That switch just lets you use the neck and bridge pickups together which is a very cool option.
Kilroy is all about... Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 ?? I thought the 'fat strat' was the humbucker styled pup; and, this all looks like traditional fender single coil stuff. I am confused? kilroy sends.
tomteriffic Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Monsieur Kilroy... Fat Strat is typically a model name for a Strat with humbuckers, correct. But these particular pickup models were called Super Fat Strats, a reference to the pickups, not the guitar. Confusing, yeah.Wish they did the current Deluxe Player's Strat with those pickups instead of those anemic noiseless ones...My nephew has one of these and he just rips on it.
Kilroy is all about... Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 thanks for that clue. I'm so clueless when it comes to fender guitars...amps, too.
