I seldom bother with craigs list because the chances of seeing this item as it pops up are slim.. and by that time theres usually several offers over the asking which throws a monkey wrench into the mix, which naturally piques "some" sellers greedy side and private auctions get underway.... that or some dink that has no interest in the first place on a do gooder mission to let a seller know he's asking too little. now,I dont wanna sound like a jag trying to take someone , but hey if a person is happy with less than what something is/or may be worth , why would anyone complain or offer differently. afterall what one thing is worth to you may not be worth the same to another and vice versa, .. correct ? thats the up side of collecting anything, getting the occassional deal. granted there are times in a sh!t storm fight over an extremely rare piece you have to do what you have to do, but that isnt the norm. this is a low priced blitz bass, and its a VERY common color , there is absolutely no shortage of them. the case is probably worth more to someone with a standard bass, than actual blitz is worth.
kurtsstuff Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 My words to the seller were..."I'll take it" which can work against you maybe??..I actually told somebody once that they were asking too little on an item on craigslist I wanted...He had it listed at $250.00 and I informed him that due to them being scarce...worth at least $500.00...He thanked me for the heads up and sold it to me for $400.00 which I happily paid!! Also...I will from time to time offer more and sometimes alot more than somebody is asking if it's something I really want or need. However...this tactic can work against you because "Joe Seller" starts thinking his item is worth more and yes it is but...usually only to me.
