Camstone Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Price lowered, shipping included! Hamer L5 copy in Tobacco Sunburst. I bought this three years ago on Ebay from an elderly gentleman that had bought it to learn to play and never did. It still had the protective plastic film on the pickguard. I played it on stage maybe ten or twelve times thinking that it would be a cool sound for R&R, but alas, the pickups don't have much output and it wants to feedback at any sort of stage volume. So it's been in my closet for a year or so and I offer it here to fellow HFC'ers for the low-low price of $350.00 (shipping and insurance included). It's made in Korea and comes with a HSC. 9.9 out of 10. PM me if interested.
Camstone Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 I'm not a jazz guitarist.I have played some jazz guitars years ago, like a Gibson L5, a Byrdland and a Super 400 and yes, I'm sure that this guitar is obviously designed as a lower cost alternative to one of those guitars. It does not have the kind of tone acoustically that a handmade, high-end jazz box would have (I'm sure due to the fact that it's made of laminated wood instead of solid woods). But it is what it is. You can check out reviews here:http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...mer/Jazz+5/10/1The guys that reviewed them on Harmony Central liked them. I paid $500 and it's still in the same condition as when I got it. If it doesn't sell here I'll throw it on ebay.
DavidE Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Any idea how it compares in quality to the Ibanez jazzy guit-fiddles?
Camstone Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Dave,I haven't played an Ibanez Jazz guitar since back in the early 80's when I played around with a George Benson model that a buddy owned. That was way too many Heinekens ago for me to remember enough to make an intelligent comparison. The Benson was a much more expensive instrument than this guitar, even back then.If you are interested in this guitar, I'll box it up and send it to ya. You can road test it and then send it back or buy it. It doesn't weigh much, so it wouldn't cost much to ship. Let me know.Cam
