DavidE Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I have too many strats and I haven't touched my Clapton in years. I figure it can go, but only if I can get a decent price for it.It's a 1989, blackie, all original except for one gold lace sensor that was replaced within the 1st year under warranty (the original just stopped working). When I bought the guitar, I put the original case with case candy under a bed and it's never been used. I used an aftermarket case instead. I did play the guitar as my number one for a couple of years, but I didn't gig as much back then. There is a little fret wear and surface marks from use. These guitars are pretty valuable parted out, but I'd hate to do that to this guitar. I will sell it for $1,000 plus shipping and paypal fees. Not a dime less. Continental U.S. only.
Bigred Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 That is a really good deal as the earlier Claptons play beautifully..The necks on the earlier ones are special too.....(I have one from '88 and one from '96).....

The original necks were supposedly made in Canada, per a Fender rep I spoke to back when they first came out. I always wanted one of those 7Up Green ones. Very cool Strats!
