moozak Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Hi,Let's see some pictures of those triple threats! How do you like them, how would you compare them to other Studio Customs?thanks, rob b.rob... i don't really have any good pics of the TT's yet... but i will try to get some pictures in the next few days.i really like the huge necks of the TT's and also like the shape of them - they are very comfortable to play... but at the same time, when compared to the stability of a normal hamer 3-pc stressed neck and the somewhat more medium sized "vintage" hamer profile... i must stay that i like the 3-pc better. to me, the tone is different... much more tight and focused and way more stable... to me, it actually projects the notes a bit better as well. so, even though i have 2 TT's... i actually prefer the 3-pc vintage neck... but the TT's are still very cool guitars!both the Studio Custom Redwood Ltd and the Special K have the 3-pc vintage carve.
moozak Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 well, as promised... i took some pics of my guitars... so i have some pics of the two Triple Threats. they are both NOS (new old stock) so they are recent purchases... but they are brand new. in fact, the one on the left was used in the 2007 Hamer catalog (page 18 i believe?)... i think you can still download the 2007 catalog from the Hamer website... anyway... here are the two together... this is the catalog TT by itself... this is the other TT... both are "Ice Tea" color... here's a whole family shot... from left to right: 1975 Gibson LP Deluxe Red Sparkle (modifed for humbuckers), Triple Threat (used in 2007 catalog), Triple Threat #2, Studio Custom Redwood LTD, Special K (all 4 Hamers have Brazilian fingerboards)

That's quite a collection! Those are beauty tops on the TTs. I was curious of the difference between the 3 piece neck and the one piece. I also read something about the angle of the headstock being a little bit higher on them. Do they come with the same pickups as regular Studio Customs? The Redwood is awesome. I can't decide which top I like better. They're all keepers, that's for sure. I'm jealous of your collection! lol rob
