BCR Greg Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 The original owner of this bad boy just traded this in.... An all original 1x15 50 watt bass combo with two channels, footswitchable tremolo(!), and an ACCORDIAN input! The original handle is gone, but everything else is there, including the RCA tubes and cover. VERY warm and sweet sounding. Not a common piece, especially since it's been in a closet for 25+ years. $649
tomteriffic Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Is that Fender knobs I see on that, Greg, or the original blacktop ones?An amplifier just like this was used in two studios in Chicago for more R & B and blues hits than you can shake a stick at. Not to mention about a bazillion commercials. So you know it sounds good.
BCR Greg Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 All stock, the same knobs as seen on old Jazz Basses.
slider313 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Actually that's a Big M,(a.k.a.M15) it's a guitar amp, and it's only a 20 watt amp. Sort of a tweed deluxe only bigger. A lower watt tweed Pro? The M 12 Mercury was the tweed deluxe counterpart in Ampeg 's line up. These are great sounding amps. They have more clean headroom than their Fender counterparts.
slider313 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Greg, what speaker is in there? I believe they came with an alnico Jensen. Date codes?
BCR Greg Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 1964 Square frame CTS 15.I'll have pot codes tomorrow, it's scattered across the bench and I am at home.
slider313 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I would put that amp at pre 1962, as it has the silver speckled tolex instead of the grey diamond cut.
