qballman Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 They are the best Hybrid acoustic/electric guitars on the market PERIOD! I had a beautiful USA Hamer Duotone Custom, Bound and Crowned, Sunburst, sounded incredible. I have also had the Standard 3-hole models and even though they don't sound as good acoustically (due to the Ovation type bridge/Plastic) they are still great guitars. Please if anyone has either a Custom or Standard that they are thinking on selling or trading, please let me know. I use a Carvin AE185 which when I ordered, I had Carvin put in different electronics for me and it does sound excellent, but Hamer Duotone's are the Best! Please email me at: [email protected] 570-878-9906I have USA Guitars I can trade, or sell to buy your Hamer.Happy Holidays!

qballman Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 ouch, plastic bridge? You know what I mean, the Ovation style, I still love the Hamer Duotone 3-Hole Standard, but the Custom with a traditional acoustic bridge does sound better. Maybe I'll say different. Either way I am open to both versions.
qballman Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Just want to thank ZR (John) for striking a trade deal with me, I will be getting a nice 3-hole USA Duotone from him and I am very Happy!!!! I am still open for more because I am very weak right now and just see USA Duotone's in my sleep....... If you have a Custom or another Standard please let me know.
ZR Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Likewise, nice talking to you. I've been on a few boards but I've never had such a consistently positive experience with people as I've had on the HFC. Just want to thank ZR (John) for striking a trade deal with me, I will be getting a nice 3-hole USA Duotone from him and I am very Happy!!!! marshal Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I just picked up a 3 holeduotone also and boy it sounds nice, plastic bridge or not, it sounds real goodsal
qballman Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 I just picked up a 3 holeduotone also and boy it sounds nice, plastic bridge or not, it sounds real goodsalYes, I do think that the Ovation styled bridge sounds better on a Hamer Duotone than on an actual Ovation. I even strung a Duotone up with acoustic strings once and it was great. But if you ever get a chance to play a Duotone Custom you will be ruined! archtop, bound & crowned, it's a thing of beauty and aural euphoria.....
collarguy Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I have a red 3 hole and a Jazz Burst Custom. I'm interested in the Gibson Songwriter. Is it available?

qballman Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Hello ,I still have the like new 99 Jazzburst Custom I sent pics of. $1600 . Still have that Gibson songwriter?Collarguy, the Gibson Songwriter is gone but that had some minor repairs and non-original case. The Hummingbird Artist I have is mint, I just bought it for $1,999.99 and it sits in the case. It has active under saddle pickup, bound neck with inlay, sounds and plays great. It looks like a reissue Hummingbird which would be $500 more, but with a smaller pickguard, same guitar. Please let me know if you have interest in it.Thanks,John570-878-9906
