saw another fake LP at a pawn shop

It was pretending to be a '96 Custom, black w/ gold hardware. They had it tagged at $1199, I'm sure they took it in thinking it was the real thing. That's the 2nd one I've seen in just a few months, the other one was tagged at about $1500, until they realized the truth. This black one had pretty loose inlay work, otherwise it looked ok. Why don't the fakers figure out that the 3 screw truss cover is a dead giveaway?, they make quite an effort to get them mostly right, then crap out on a few key details, I suppose it's just a matter of time before the fakes take more than a 2nd look to figure out. Oh, it also had the Zakk Wylde logo, and a custom shop logo on the back of the headstock.

Local shop here had one also. I had a very strange looking Gibson marked case , the guitar looked right but the finish & weight were all wrong for a Gibson LP.

The owner of the shop thought I was making it up after I told him I thought it was fake. I went back to that shop two weeks later & the first thing he said to me was you were right about that guitar.

There showing up everywhere so do your research before you lay your $$ down.

right but the headstock looks close...
