Caddie Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 What...no love for the Nighthawks?Lotsa love for the Nighthawk AND the Blueshawk. The Nighthawk I own has a neck mini-hum a middle single coil and a slanted hum in the bridge. Between those pups, a 5-pos switch, and a push/pul tone pot you have perhaps too many choicesl It definitely breaks out of the usual Gibson mold with those electronics, tummy cut, 25.5" scale, and a Strat style hardtail. The Blueshawk is another one that breaks the Gibson mold in many ways. If you like a 25.5" scale, tummy cut, semi hollow, w or w/o a bigsby, very lightweight Gibson this might be the one for you.noonan
frankthomson Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 melody makers (joan jett) are still affordable. even sg jr's are goin up.... because its an sg? early eighties LP's and explorers (no trems) are good solid fiddles as well. but in the sixties, melody makers are still cheap i have a 63......and i love it!!!!! ...so i'd also recommend buying one they're about $1000-ish nowadays i think i just saw an S3[??] for like $400 also have a Nighthawk...and love IT. (THEY ALSO COME W/ 3 PUPS, but i sold this one, but kept a 2 pup version]
