Brewmaster Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I bought this amp from Demented a couple of years ago. I bought it for my son and he didn't want it so it has been laying around collecting dust which is a shame. My 18 watter is all I'm using these days. This is a 1977 50 Watt Master volume amp that was modded and captures the sound of Steve Salas from the Colorcode era and was supposed to be one of his amps. Anyway, it sounds like it. It is not a collectors amp, the head cab is marked up and there is no rear panel. Whoever did the mod removed the power indicator light and the back panel cab selector is covered in tape and says 16 ohm only. $850.00 Shipped and Paypal
Disturber Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 That amp is bitchin. And friggin LOUD! Stevie Salas i bitchin, so I'd bet the amp will be bitchin to
bmenary Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Great Amp- If you rock and don't own one of these- BUY IT- This the 70/80's rock sound.... The MV works well on these- you can get a nice gain going without too much volume-
peedenmark7 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 this is actually a 4 holer modded to a master volume...?
Turdus Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 this is actually a 4 holer modded to a master volume...? I don't think so. Been a long time since I've owned a JMP, but if I recall correctly, the MV chassis had 4 holes drilled. The faceplate covered 2 of them. So, I would assume that whomever did the mods, drilled the 2 holes through the faceplate. That extra rocker switch makes it look balanced.

I don't know for sure, that is what I was told. Anyway, the tones that come out of this amp sound just like the album.
Brewmaster Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 I'm putting this amp back up for sale again. I'm in love with the 18 watt clone I built and I'm building more for some locals. I need to sell some gear to finance this project. $850.00 Shipped and Paypal.
