bizzwriter Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I'm reprioritizing my amplifier lineup, and am going to sell my very excellent 18 watt Marshall head to make room for new additions. I bought this amp on the Gear Page a couple of years ago, and have gigged with it several times. I thought I'd give you guys first shot before I stick it back on the Gear Page. This head was built by the previous owner from a Weber kit to the Trinity 18 SIII spec. It's the TMB model -- treble, middle, bass -- not the tremolo model, and it's got the gold plexi nameplates front and back. I screwed on a Union Jack that I picked up in the UK -- looks right to me. I just checked with the previous owner, and here's what he had to say about the components: Component upgrades include: Sprague Filter caps (I think!) Soso signal caps Switchcraft switches Cliff jacks I'll double check those Spragues tonight. Anyway, this is a great-sounding, well-built 18 watt clone -- it really rocks! I'm looking for $650 $625 $550 shipped and paypalled anywhere in the continental U.S. I've got 100% positive feedback on eBay -- check me out under bizzwriter. Lemme know if you're interested -- I'll wait until after the weekend before I stick an ad up on the Gear Page FLEABAY. Thanks!
JGale Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Assembled with cabinet!?Insanely good price.Listen to clips of a T18 heyah http://www.trinityamps.com/Trin18Sound.htm
Brewmaster Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I use Trinity to source some of my parts. Their Heyboer made trannies are top notch. The only difference I see between this one and a full Trinity build is whoever built it used metal film resistors where Trinity is 99% carbon comp. Some builders prefer to do it that way. The bottom line is I have yet to hear an 18 watter that doesn't sound killer. Great price on this one.
DEMENTED Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Killer deal, ......what's up with the 'Wreck clone on top of it though???
bizzwriter Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 Killer deal, ......what's up with the 'Wreck clone on top of it though???Ha, ha -- thanks! The wreck clone is completely insane. Bought it six months ago from a guy on the gear page -- it uses two old coke bottle brimar 6v6s, and simply ROARS! it's one of those amps where the notes really do bloom as you hold onto them. love the flame cherry cabinet, too -- it's a keeper!
