hamerhead Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 When I first started reading this it I thought it sounded awefully familiar. Seems a lot like one I sent back. It looked great until you picked it up out of the case, then it was seriously downhill from there. Unfortunately, I didn't get the serial # off of it.My guess is it's the same guitar, and the seller was probably just dumping what had been dumped on him. The "guitar-trader2000" handle sure sounds familiar for some reason.
JohnnyB Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I haven't done an eBay deal in years. I'm so glad I'm over that scene. Just a haven for scumbags. I had a conversation with a pawn shop owner yesterday about the crap he puts up with. He used to do a lot of used audio and electronic equipment on eBay. The trend he's seen is where he sends a working unit to a buyer, the buyer bitches and complains that it's DOA, PayPal refunds the buyer's money, and when the pawnshop owner gets the piece back, it's indeed DOA, but that's because the "buyer" opened it up and stripped out the parts he was looking for, filed the complaint, got his refund, and sent the unit back. He's been burned several times this way.
thecajunboy Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 He's been burned several times this way. Proving once again, that the ways to stick it to somebody simply cannot be numbered.
Guest big steve Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 johhnyb, thats not the only way that works,i used to sell vintage comics(1960's)on ebay.they would pull the same scam.send me back a crappy book for the near mint one i sent them ,claiming it was not in condition described.so they would get a upgrade for their collection for free!!i had to start describing this practice in my adds, that all sales final,no free upgrades off of me.finally got sick of this stuff, sold the whole collection to a dealer for 7k,about 3rd of what it was worth!oh well!iv'e found spelling things out like that in the description, with the all sales finale, works pretty good.
