unfun75 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I have a Fender speaker cable with the plastic "F" caps. The cable is black, the caps are brown. Approx 3 ft long. The cable has "AIW Corp" embossed on it. I did a Google search for "AIW corp" and found a company called American Insulated Wire. I know the cable isn't a newer reproduction because I've had it for about 20 years. You can buy the repros for $20-$30 bucks online so I was wondering what mine is worth. I can take pics tomorrow when its light out.
HSB0531 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Are the 1/4" plugs right angle or straight? Is the cable black zip cord or round?
Turdus Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Don't know the value of your Fender cable, but this is similar. 20 years ago, I owned a '70 Marshall half stack, with what was most likely the original speaker cord.I found the cable after it was in a box for several years. I posted a pic on the HFC, inquiring about it, and some here thought it could be legit. I put it on Ebay stating what I thought it was, but I had no way to validate it.Sold for over $50.
cmatthes Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I had the same thing on my late 70s/early 80s Silverface Bassman 70 head/cab. Little black round plastic caps with the "F" logo, pretty cheap construction (hey, it was CBS-Fender, right?!). I think the brown caps (should be really dark brown) are from the mid-70s. Some guy with a 70s Silverface is probably scouring eBay looking for one of those right now!
