zorrow Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Listening to the song "Conquest" from Judas Priest's last album -- "Nostradamus". I'm wearing very ordinary headphones.Around 2:25, guitars solos start. I hear the guitar to the right more to the lower side, while the guitar to the left sounds like above my head.Is it me or this is a truly 3d sound effect?
Buzzy Fretts Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 it could easily be. there have been a few technologies that have explored 3D placement of sound. Q-sound was licensed by Roland at one point. it works to a small degree sitting in the sweet spot of a stereo's speakers. but can really jump out when wearing headphones. I had a demo CD back in the ninety's that had a sequence of a guy give you a haircut. on the phones, you could hear the guy snipping your sideburns and then moving around the back of your head. very impressive.
MCChris Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Play it backward and it says "Do it! Do it! Get the gun! Get the gun!"
