not sellin mine(most important effect in my chain) but the black two knob maxon compressor pedal is incredible, just turn the compression all the way off and the output all the way up, you will still get a slight bit of compression but very subtle and will be great for leads,it has a huge db boost, i'm not a tech guy but it is supposedly different than most other comps in that it has an optical thingamajig as oppossed to different thingamjigs , i couldn't play without it............................

Do you just want it a tad louder, or are you looking to "juice it up" a bit for a lead boost by adding more grind/ sustain/compression?

I have been using a graphic E.Q. in my Boogie's effects loop (series loop) to boost the level selectively without adding anything but volume and a tweeze in the mids to cut through a bit, and it works perfectly.

Otherwise, to kick harder and add any of the above sprinklings, there are many, many ways to go. I'll defer to those that go that route and trust you will find able guidance here.

The Tech 21 Boost DLA looks pretty cool to me.

I use an ac30 and have the tone down, need it louder.

MXR has the micro amp but that may distort?

I have a MXR dyna comp only has 2 knobs, I wonder if it would work like the Maxon?

had a dyna comp and it was not anything like the maxon, i didn't like it at all, the maxon is totally different, a bit expensive but i personally will never play without one again, perfect solo boost which is what i use it for, it's very subtle as far as the compression thing goes(you can dial in more if needed) but has a massive db boost to smash those preamp tubes a little on the ac30 and make em growl.........................

An EQ or Comp with a level/volume might do the trick for you. I purchased a Comp for the reason (and to keep the overall volume constant) and it does ok.

Believe it or not, a Digitech Bad Monkey makes for a pretty effective clean boost (gain minimal, volume dimed). For around $30 on eBay, they are pretty cheap to check out. Bass and Treble controls to tweak if needed.
