kurtsstuff Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 I can't think of anyplace better than adadepot??...what do you need to know?? I'm well versed in MP-1
Hamer95USA Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Hey guys, Kurtsstuff is welled verse in the ADA MP-1 preamp? Oh, no!!! The pages to the manual are going to be sticky!!! Jk, Kurt. Hey silentman, What version is the software on your ADA MP-1 preamp? Do you have 1.38 or 2.01 software? You can tell when you turn the preamp on, it goes through its diagnostic routine, and it will flash the software version before reverting to your preset you had on last. Guitar George
Jason01 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Oh great, now you made me turn mine on to look at the software version. I have the 1.38, whats the difference? I have a photocopied version of the manual. I could try to go make you a copy of that if no one has one available but not sure how a copy of a copy would turn out.

Hey Jason01, You stated what is the difference between the ADA MP-1 preamp's software versions 1.38 and 2.01. Version 1.38 software is one of the earlier software versions for the MP-1. Version 2.01 software was ADA's last upgrade for the MP.1 preamp which has more factory presets and MIDI dump capabilities. Copying an MP-1 preamp's version 1.38 software owners manual is not going to very helpful, if you own an MP-1 preamp with 2.01 software & vice versa. If you want more information about this, you can go to the ADA Depot website: www.adadepot.com They sell a CD rom with all of the owners manual for the ADA MP-1 preamps as well as other ADA equipment on it as well. The ADA Depot is one of the few places that has such information due to ADA being out of business. I recently had my ADA MP-1 preamp modified with a 3TM mod (3 12AX7 preamp tubes instead of 2), noise mod, new lithium battery, software upgrade to 2.01 version, rear input jack conversion, new input jack and front volume pot. The 3TM mod gives my preamp more gain, better control over the EQ and has a cool bluesy overdrive on the clean tube channel. The noise mods reduces the noise a lot (MP-1 preamps can be pretty noisy), the lithium battery will give the memory another 10 years life & allows me to replace the battery myself (original battery holder was soldered on), the 2.01 software upgrade was the latest software for the MP-1 and the jack and pot needed replacement. The rear input jack conversion converted the line input jack (useless) to an extra input jack located on the rear of the unit. Useful if you're connecting rack gear to the preamp. If you want these upgrades for your MP-1 preamp, the ADA Depot can provide these upgrades for your preamp. I did this on mine and it was money well spent. Guitar George
