A few weeks ago, I bid on an item. Someone out-bid me, but then backed out of the deal. I got a 2nd chance offer, and tried to accept it. For some reason, it didn't take.

I emailed the seller and explained it. So he reposted the item with a BIN for what my 2nd chance offer was. He put my name in the title so I could search and find it right after he posted it.

This may not be the case here (pun not intended, but I'll leave it in), because he still put an item description, increasing the chance that someone else may grab the BIN, if, in fact, it was a similar situation. It could also be a way to add security to your craigslist transaction? I.e., come to an agreement, then post a BIN on ebay and use PayPal that way. It would waste money, but maybe someone would want the added security...
