e-isle rock Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Was wondering if it is even worth trying to sell this guitar. Obviously it has been top routed (not by me) for a Fender pickguard. And not professionally either. Also, the pickup cutouts in the body have been trimmed so that they match the pickup cutouts in the pickguard. The pickguard is a Fender pg that I had made and modified by Chandler Music/Pickguard Heaven to replace the crappy one that came with the guitar. The guitar looks absolutely beautiful and is in awesome shape aside from the top route. The electronics is a new EMG SA set with tone 2 being an SPC control. The mini toggle isn't connected to anything. The neck is gorgeous birdseye maple and in awesome condition. Maybe I should part it out for the electronics and the neck? I also have an extra used ABM roller bridge with Graphtec saddles and used Sperzel tuner set to go with it. Though I don't have a trem arm. Also, I have a nice hardshell case for it. It looks like a Hamer USA case but without the Hamer logo. Anyways, what do you think? Thanks!
specialk Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Beautiful guitar, but you really don't want to ask that open-ended question around here,

ET_KenW Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Vintage S' seem to be going at around $1000 now in original condition. I think with the things you describe about the guitar, starting an auction at about $800+ might not be too far of a stretch. (I know, I missed the opportunity to throw the bottom-feeder price of the board.)
e-isle rock Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 I think a bottom feeder price is more realistic. I think maybe putting iton Ebay with a thorough discription of what's been done and that it hasbeen modified and setting the starting bid around $200 would probablybe my best bet.Roli's Vintage S that is now for sale is what my Vintage S used to looklike. Beautiful guitar BTW Roli!
SteveB Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I think that looks pretty sweet with that pickguard actually. I think your plan makes sense... this is a great example of a guitar where you should let the market pick the price. Pic's of the top route would be a good idea too in the interest of full disclosure.
