Cheap Chick Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I just noticed that the two *smaller* tuners on my twelver are different sizes (ok - so I'm not the brightest candle on the cake) that they go basically small, medium, large. Is there a reason (other than cosmetic) for this?
cmatthes Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 It is actually a functional thing - ever tried to tune a 12'ver in the dark? If you need to go by feel sometimes, you can always bet on getting the right one - the second octave tuner buttons are minis, so you can distinguish by touch which one you're grabbing. That, plus those headstocks get awfully congested!Brilliant design, if you ask me - I NEVER would have thought about something like that!
tafkathundernotes Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 FWIW, I replaced both sizes of "small" tuners with pearloid buttons. Took about 1/2 pound off the headstock. Looks nice too!
