polara Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Just sold a hard drive on Ebay and the buyer is Geoff Downes, UK address. He emails me and asks me to send it to another address in the US, which is an artist management company. I do a quick Google and yep, this company manages the band Asia.Weird, but kinda cool.
Craig Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 That's pretty cool! My buddy Adam does royalty auditing for a living and recently helped those guys out, and had a blast when they played NYC, he hung out back stage and said they were really cool cats.
hikarateboy Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 At the risk of sounding uncool I loved the first Asia record and the hits on the second werent all that bad either (dont ask me to remember the names of them. I last remember Pat Thrall as being their last guitar player. Who's playing in the band now? Howe, Downes and Palmer were definately how I will always think of that band but It really can't be Asia without John Wetton. There's no way he's ever left the band is there?
frank_c Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 i think Wetton had left for a while and was replaced by Greg Lake.
polara Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 http://www.asiaworld.org/index.phpI have to admit I'm curious what they sound like now. Downes was in the Buggles and Yes, too. Mebbye I'll have to preview some mp3s and buy a CD with the money for the drive. He already PayPal'd me, so that's good...
