hectorp Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Some fine colleague here turned me on to Dave at "frets on the net" who makes various fixtures for guitars, including pickup rings and electronics control plates, etc.Dave agreed to fabricate a 3-coil ring from a sample I sent him (which came from an old Prototype...and which, per my measurements, will fill perfectly on my Newport Custom).I just got the ring back from him and now that he's got the template, he can be a source for any others on this board who have an odd fascination for 3-coil pickups like I do.At the moment, he's limited to matte black plastic (no white or cream...but who knows). Also, Dave is a great guy. Super friendly and easy to work with.Have fun!http://www.fretsonthenet.com/
David B Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I bought the last one from Hamer one a few months ago. That's what they told me anyway.
veatch Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Dave's built a few sets of rings for me. (i'm kinda weird about pup rings. I actually expect them to be parallel to the string and stuff... ) You are correct: Dave's a great guy. Everything i've ever gotten back from him has always been dead on to the specs i've sent him. Good to know he has the 3-coil template now.
