anotherfreak2 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I'm sorry I looked.............. I wonder what clinkering is? well, if you have to ask..................... I don't know...........
bobsessed Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I found out what a clinker is about a year ago when I bought a corn stove. The stove actually burns whole corn kernels fed into it's "burn box" by an electric auger, a little at a time on warmer days, or more if you dial the control knob up. After about 10 to 30 hours, a "clinker" is formed in the bottom of the burn box. It's a chunk of corn ash about 2x 2x 4 inches that's hard as a rock when cooled. We save 'em up to use as fertilizer in the spring. Wood pellet heat stoves also create clinkers, as do oil-fired furnaces, but the latter would kill your plants. BTW, I 'm heating my whole house with corn! It's plentiful, and economical. -Bob-
BCR Greg Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 "Clinkering" is like sweeping arpeggios and two hand tapping. Real good at being real useless.
