landon w Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 i have an artwood series ibanez 7 string acoustic and the edges of the truss rod nut are stripped. No one seems to be able to get a bite on it to adjust the neck.I need help BAD if anyone can!!!If not, then at least a good reference will do.Thanks
Mindseyes Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 If its a nut type this might work if they make a small version of it.http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/gatorgrip.html
anotherfreak Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 is it YOUR guitar?1. is it an allen head that is stripped on the inside? (most artwoods fit this description)2. is it a nut that is stripped on the outside?solution: #1find the biggest allen wrench that will fit in the holecut it off so that only a 1/4 in will stick out JB Weld it inside the stripped out nutget yourself a nutdriver the size of the allen wrench you cut off.Solution #2find the smallest nut driver that will fit on the nutJB weld it to the nut(if it is stripped that badly it should be replaced anyway)Remove and replace nut either will get you swingingalso, are you trying to get it tighter(more bow), or are you trying to loosen it (less bow). sometimes you can tighten the strings a little more or less to put more(tighter) or less(looser) tension on a neck to help you move a stuck trussrod. It depends on which direction you need to move the neck.
