Hardware for 70s Ibby Destroyer? Metric sized?

Hey all,

I usually post here about my Hamer, but know that there are a number of folks here who are familiar with the Ibanez lawsuit Destroyers from the mid-70s. I've got one, and have been contemplating changing out the heavy tailpiece and bridge for aluminum at some point.

I'm assuming that I would need metric sized parts. Is that correct? Has anyone here done this upgrade? I'd be curious to hear what difference it made if so.

Also curious about whether (tonally) it makes sense to switch out the bridge in addition to the tailpiece. Is it just the tailpiece that really matters tonally? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Yup, metric. Most of the parts should be an easy replacement without any wood work or damage, just keep the original parts, your guitar's value will drop if it have non reverse-able modifications.
