Scale length-related question: are neck and body "independent"?

This might be a stupid question:

Let's say I own a Super-strat body... Would any neck fitting to its neck pocket work fine, independently from the neck's scale length?

I guess the short answer is "no". However, for 24.75" and 25.5" scale lengths I wonder if adjusting the intonation would be all what you would need to move from either scale length to the other.

PS: The question arose while watching all those Warmoth necks and bodies. I just wonder if any combination of them is possible. ;)

Yes. The scale lenght is indepent of the body. That's why Warmoth can sell 24 3/4" and 27" scale lenght replacement necks for Strats.

the bridge placement would be off, ex~

fitting a 24,3/4"scale neck to a 25" scale body.

some manufacturers offer a conversion neck where the neck heel placement is compensated to scale to retro on a 25" bridged body.

But, that does not mean that you will get a good fit between body/ neck interface.

Yes, I suppose I should have said, it's possible to fit a neck with a different scale length, but the original body does need to be considered somewhat. In the case of Warmoth, they design most of their stuff to retrofit to Teles and Strats, but if you were to try their neck on some other body, you might not get the expected results.

I just went through this with my Diablo. If the original neck is 24 fret your outa luck. Unless you find one from another superstrat that you like.

The Jackson PC1 has a great neck on it!!!
