FunkyE9th Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I'm thinking of pickup up the magicstomp I. I like it for the small footprint. Don't know how it sounds though. Need it mainly for delay and modulation type effects.Does it affect the tone when the effects is bypassed? Also does it have a good Leslie emulation? Any general comments?Thanks,-FunkyE9th
DavidE Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I saw that MF has a low price on those these days....Lots of bang for the buck. Never tried one though.
FunkyE9th Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Yup, $89 at MF. Main reason I'm thinking of getting it. -FunkyE9th
Brooks Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 i have one, but i use it for a direct signal (from my duotones mag pups) to the PA for acoustic gigs. i have it set up for amp sim, very mild OD, comp, and delay.its fully tweakable thru your conmputer. haven't used it much w/ a regular amp setup. i do remember liking the phaser and envelope filter settings thru an amp (not much of a fan of chorus/flange). don't think it has rotary spkr sim. don't remember if it sucked tone when off, like i said i only tried it a few times thru an amp.hope that helps.
JordanL Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 check out magicstomp.com for a detailed listing of whats in the box. As long as the 45 day return policy applies you haven't got much to lose. I had a DG stomp for awhile, and thought it was capable of some good tones after reasonable tweaking. No experience with the Magicstomp.
DavidE Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Spend another $10 on small stuff and get free shipping too....I had to order an alto sax backpack gig bag from MF when I couldn't find a local store that had one (not even Sam Ash!) and added some Everly Star picks in my gauge that the locals were out of and it shipped in less than 24 hours.
