Greatest talent of our generation IMFO -
Yeah. He's kinda been phoning it In since Billy embraced the drum machine, but he did some killer stuff in the 70s. I particularly love the Tejas album, he does this paradiddle rhythm (RLRRLRLL) on the ride and snare that grooves like crazy, its all over Tejas, here at ~2:11

Eric moved here to Greensboro a few years ago, but I keep missing the few local shows he does. -

Explaining to Someone Why I Have So Many Guitars
Brooks replied to Dutchman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Its fun, thats why. I go thru a few guitars every year, I evaluate and enjoy them for awhile then move 'em on. I never have more than 5 at a time. They are all temporary, except my Ibby AS50, that a keeper. -
My hands are changing. Thinking about going to 9s.
Brooks replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Yes sir! I used 11s for awhile in the 90s ("SRV dick measuring" haha). Eventually went to 10s, then I hurt my left hand in a bike crash in 2010 and switched to 9s on 25.5" guitars and 10s on 24.75". I had an epiphany when I got my 1980 Ibby semi hollow; it sounded great we 9s clean, even with no compression thru a SS amp, it just has the jazz tone I've been looking for. The right guitar will sound good no matter what you string it with. YMMV -
The White Album? There was nothing on that fookin cover...

I remember going to Arnold & Morgan Music in Garland TX in the late 70s, they had this poster and one of the employees had scrawled across it BARBARA STRIESAND PLAYS IBANEZ!!!

Uli Jon Roth has changed his costume.

I wish he'd go back to the Tokyo Tapes era white Strat with the rebar sized trem arm, it sounded better. Check out 9 min in, and 24 min, killer... -

Gibson Adventures with NGD Content

I've told this before, here it comes again; Growing up a huge Sabs fan, I played 2 SGs thru high school & Jr college. 1st was a strange 1972 model w/ bigsby, LP type raised pickguard, and semi circle top mounted controls. 2nd was a 70s white SG that I spraypainted, added a Kahler & DiMarzios. Played that one until the head stock snapped off (didn't realize that it could be fixed, junked it). About 20 years ago I briefly had an Epi Tony Iommi SG that I couldn't bond with (you can't go home again). SGs and LPs are so damn iconic and cool, but I'm not a fan of their feel. -
Controversial artist. He Wrote some classics, but had some cringe racist tunes, and did that bizarre album with Pantera.
