paul144 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Check out this smokin' T-51 I brought back to life...http://www.PictureTrail.com/gid8109881It was a mess when it arrived from ebay...but the price was right...Needed a neck pickup (Duncan Antiquity) and a new pickguard....and lots of cleaning up, including a touch of clear nitro spray on the neck where the finish was flaking off. Has the original Duncan Broadcaster pickup at the bridge. Weighs 7.5 lbs. A few hours in my shop and its like new. Had to re-wire it with new pots, file frets, remove some spray paint on the bottom horn, de-funk the bridge saddles & buff out the shine.Sounded great at the gig Sat night!
JohnnyB Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Very nice!!!I love the blonde finish over ash. That's how they look before aging turns it butterscotch. Gotta love a good Tele.I'm jealous.
Hamer95USA Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Hey Paul144, You did a great job restoring that guitar. Now it looks completely stock, has the correct parts, plays great and looks killer. Where did you get the neck plate, neck bolts, & pickguard from? I noticed you improvised a screw for one of the bridge saddles on the Wilkinson HT-100 Tele bridge. The neck finish looks good. I thought the original electronics on the guitar was the stock OEM Hamer electronics. Guitar George
paul144 Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 Thanks! The neck plate was original, just the screws were incorrect, those came from Stew Mac for a few bucks... The pickguard came from http://www.lostartvintage.com/mainframe.aspHe had some NOS guards for $35.The volume pots were 500k, so I doubt those were original, I believe 250k was used on this from the factory.
neastguy Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 do t-51 have different size necks or are they all pretty much the same? and if so, what is the size? thanks
paul144 Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 at the nut its 1 11/16" wide, C profile, 14" radius so its pretty flat and you can bend off the charts without fretting out.
