Brewmaster Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I have three amps for sale to offset my tax bill. Bad enough I had to sell a couple of guitars including my Huber now I have to let go of some amps as well. I need cash so no trades please. Valvetech 25/50 watt amp, EL-34 based head that I had custom built. Blond Tolex in mint condition. Rob just went over it a couple of months ago so it has all of his latest upgrades. $1,050.00 Shipped. Soldano Reverb-o-sonic 2x10 50 watt 6L6 based combo with purple tolex in excellent condition. This is not a high gain Soldano but it does everything else really well. $1000.00 Traynor YCV40 40 watt 5881/6l6 based 1 12 combo, red tolex, wheat grill, Celestion V30 speaker. Think of a Deluxe reverb on steroids no OD pedal required. Excellent condition. $475 Shipped. Emma Reezafratzitz OD pedal. - $135 shipped.
sonicblue1960 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 BrewMaster- Your Soldano is a 2x12, I think you made a typo!! Some one better grab that ValveTech amp quick, because by next week, during ToneFest '05 in Clearwater, Florida, that baby will be Gooooone!!! Rob from ValveTech will be there with amps and I will have both of mine there, too! I can say that BrewMasters amp is AWESOME, period. I liked it so much that after I heard it, I immediately bought one and when I got that one,and then ANOTHER!!

I could destroy a small city with it I'm sure.
ET_KenW Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Man ... I can't believe it's for sale! That thing's gotta be a fucking RIPPER! I could destroy a small city with it I'm sure. I can only imagine the widespread panic and fear if MCChris could get a hold of this amp. I, for one, would be moving to Montana. Preferrably deep into a mountain.
Luke Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Why not take a home equity line of credit to pay your taxes, and then use the 4.25% interest you pay as a tax write off instead? Selling your gear has to mean a 50% loss on each item, the equity is sitting there doing nothing for you in the short term and the government wants you to borrow against it my making it tax deductible.
sirDaniel Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Imagine MCChris with a 100W super lead. I know it's on his short list. He could MELT the crowd...
Brewmaster Posted August 14, 2005 Author Posted August 14, 2005 Why not take a home equity line of credit to pay your taxes, and then use the 4.25% interest you pay as a tax write off instead? I hear ya. Rates are higher than 4.5 though.
Luke Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 The higer the equity line the lower the rate, so if you open a $250,000 credit line you can find 4.25%, which what I have. I have only $5,000 borrowed, but by having the higher credit line I fell into a lower interest rate. It seems ironic that if I had a $20,000 home equity line the rate would have been 5.5%, my banker explained to me that the more they are able to lend me the more the rate will diminish and the evaluation cost was $399 regardless of what the final credit line value was. So it is just a matter of discipline to not go out and spend the other $245,000, which is achieved by cutting up the checks I did not need so it is now impossible to buy that new Ferrari.
BLuesBuster Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 I hear ya. Rates are higher than 4.5 though.Maybe higher than 4.5% but you also get a write-off.
Brewmaster Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 I dropped off the Valvetech by Rick B. (Sonicblue 1960) this morning. He will take it to Tonefest later this week. Thanks Rick!
Brewmaster Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 Everything is still available. Nobody was buying at Tonefest.
