I'm looking for some speaker suggestions.

One of the projects I will be working on over the next year or so will be swapping at least 2 of the stock speakers out of my 4X12 cabinet for something a little more toneful to me. The first step is recognizing what I think would work for me. From the celestion camp (from the better speaker demos on youtube) I would say I'm a Vin30 guy w/t some Greenback thrown in. There are a few others that are close, but the seventy 80 is certainly not one of them for reference. In the eminence brand the Tonker sounds pretty good to me although I am sure others would fit the bill.

I'm looking for suggestions in other speaker brands/models to listen to. Hopefully, I've said enough that would give out some clues as far as tone is concerned. The individual speakers would probably have to be rated at 50 watts or higher.

very, very nice speaker. right up your ally. On my list to get as well.

+1 to Warehouse Guitar Speakers (WGS). After doing a similar search last fall, I settled on a Reaper 30 that I'm very happy with (can definitely see the shortcomings of my Celestion). You might want to check out their Retro 30 or Veteran models - closer to the V30 thang tonewise. Murkat's recommendation sounds very good from the clips also. Great value for made in the USA speakers.

I have a Mojo Music Supply British Vintage 25 and 30 watt in my main 2x12 cab and they sound fantastic. I am pretty sure Eminence makes these for Mojo. I also hear good things about the Scumback speakers, they are pricey though.
