FunkyE9th Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Anyone have a suggestion for a CHEAP stereo mic? I want to try recording our practices when we're working on originals. I just need something to capture the practice well enough so that I can practice with the recording at home. I want to hook it up to my laptop's mic in. Any suggestions?-FunkyE9th

FunkyE9th Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 The laptop does have a stereo mic in. -FunkyE9th
Monacosis Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 If you want to go the lo-fi (super-cheap) route, you can cannabalize some headphones and make your own stereo mic. I used some cheap sony phones and made a pretty cool mic for a minidisc recorder this way. I also ended using it for some full-blown sessions when I wanted a lo-fi (zero-fi?) effect. Pretty cool, but it wont replace your Neumanns! mike
