Scarabaeus Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMER-USA-CHAPPERAL-SN...1QQcmdZViewItem Back around 97 or so, I bought a guitar just like this on eBay. The seller wrapped the case with gift paper and shipped it like that. When I received it, I checked it out thoroughly, and found that the body was cracked at the trem studs. Remove the back trem plate to see this area. I returned it immediately. Sorry, I didn't record the serial number or seller info. This was back when I didn't know that much about Hamers or eBay. If any of you have a guitar like this, you may want to check it out. I know the chances are extremely thin you have it, but I just wanted to let ya'll know about it since this auction reminded me of it.
Nathan Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Another problem you may notice (you may have to open the case) is that your guitar has a snake skin finish.
darc Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Ha! And I was about to post what a tragedy it would be if such a lovely guitar were damaged. I think everything should come in snakeskin - Newports, Improvs, everything.
cmatthes Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Darc:I'd pay money to see a Snakeskin Improv!I'd BUY a Snakeskin Newport or Monaco though. It would be so wrong, it'd be right...
JohnnyB Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I think even I'd like a snakeskin Newport. Beats the hell outta lava.Maybe have fretboard inlays of longhorn skulls, cowboy boots, barbed wire, etc.

darc Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Where are the Photoshoppers when you really need 'em LOL.
SteveB Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Maybe have fretboard inlays of longhorn skulls, cowboy boots, barbed wire, etc. sounds like the Billy Gibbons signature Newport.
