cswilder Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I've got an 01 Gibson Faded SG for sale. It's in worn brown and has the earlier crescent moon inlays. This is the nicest one I've seen. The body is nearly one piece of mahogany. There is a small additional piece near the control cavity. The mahogany is flamed and figured on the back and looks great. The guitar is stock and in good condition. There are a couple of minor dings. It's an excellent player. I'll sell it for $500 shipped with a non original hard shell case that fits pretty well. Paypal OK. I'll always consider interesting trades.
Armitage Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Looks nice, looks like mine actually. It's funny, these are really hit and miss. Mine looks lovely and looks like it's a one piece body (you can tell by looking at the edges), but some are monsterously aweful.... multi piece, bad fret ends and crappy looking wornout finish. Some like the worn look I suppose, mines rich with a satin finish.I think they used all the left over ebony fretboards and cresent inlays from the Gothic series. They only do dot and rosewood on these now.
Armitage Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 .... looks like my sofa too.... Hey, if you don't mind, I'm gonna steal your photo until I get around to taking one of mine
cswilder Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Thats fine with me! I actually heard that the first faded series was a way to get rid of the poorly selling Gothic series parts as well. Chris
silentman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 The body is nearly one piece of mahogany. It's nearly 2 pieces too, LOL.
bobbymack Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Is the neck stable, or does touching the neck pull it out of tune?
