I've been running EMGs in my strat style and theyre great for what they are but I'd like to try something more traditional in this guitar for a while, I may just have to buy another stratoid but I really dig the wood on this old Schecter, so lemm know what strat sets you have, not looking for rails or minbuckers, straight up single coils ( I am considering some virtual vintage DiMarzios new but would prefer used and cheap ;) )

Yo, Bill.

I have a bunch of "extrees" in reserve,...assorted... all good stuff. See if anything catches your fancy :

1 new set of Pete Bilthoft's hand-made (Vintage Vibe Guitars) p/ups. Middle p/up is RWRP for hum-cancelling . Total bell-like vintage tone & quack, hand potted & shielded. $100. shp'd

More info at http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com/pickups.htm

1 set new (de-installed, never played) Fender "70's" p/ups. Same magnet stagger as Jumpin' Jimi's '68-'69, therefore best suited for a 7 1/2" radius neck. $75.00 shp'd. These p/ups have a reputation that preceeds them. (REALLY sound great)

All 3 are wound the same.... just as they did back then.

1 set GFS "Texas" Premium Alnico, still new in box. Vintage type materials & cloth-covered silver wires. Middle p/up is RWRP. Bridge p/up wound "hot," around 9 k ohms, others vintage 5.5 to 6 k. $60.00 shp'd Great bang for the buck.

1 set GFS Premium Alnico Staggers, still new in box. Vintage type materials, vintage-wound set w/RWRP middle p'up. $60. shp'd. Great bang for the buck also.

Hey Bill - Are you looking for electric-start pickups, or pull-start pickups?

If you're still driving a Big Block Dodge, you'll probably need push-start pickups. ;);)

Speaking of starters...

Anyone else remember those dumb "wind-up" recoil starters they used on lawnmowers for a while, back in the 60's? You'd flip this stamped-metal handle out of the starter-housing, there was a knob on the end. You grabbed the knob and wound it up (around & around) tight, until your arm was ready to fall off. Said a short prayer, then pushed a little button that released the spring and spun the engine. Actually required more total effort and was more breakage-prone that the simple rope-pull.
