Hello,

I'm looking for a case for my Newport with bigsby.

Does anyone know if a case for a ES 335 fits?

Any other cheap alternatives?

Cheers Will

The Newport is not a common size. A 335 is significantly bigger and a Newport deserves better than to rattle around in an ill-fitting case.

You might check out this.

Gibson has made several downsized semihollow thinlines through the years, such as the ES-336 and the Johnny A. Currently they make one called the ES-339. And as it happens, Musicians Friend has the ES-339 hardshell case on sale here. The ES-339 is about 14" wide, so measure your Newport to see if it's about the same.

What are the upper and lower bout measurements on a Newport? I can measure my Howard Roberts case when I get home if you like.

A Howard Roberts case may be about as difficult to locate as a Newport case, but if it works it would give you another alternative as you look.

Thanks for the info guys.

Will check the dimensions.

Thanks for the info, I live in the netherlands so the case at Musicians friend is no option.
