Okay dumb question.

Unit working fine. battery died. Unit not work so well. (Duh!)

Replace battery.

Identical hook up. (essentially put back on floor and re-insert cables)

Now unit does nothing but squeal when channel (any channel) is activated.

This does not compute.

Signal path: Ibanez Sr-905(battery is good) Ernie ball Jr volume pedal. One out to tuner the other to DI. Di to amp input.

Going to e-mail Tech-21 (Len is the guy's name , right?)

I do have an idea of what happened. I thought about trading it in on the

Bass Driver Deluxe. Now it'll be worthless electronics...

didja try the factory reset (detailed in the user manual)? it might help (there are all kinds of digital gremlins floating around - reset sometimes helps exorcise them).

worse to worse, tech21 seems like a reasonably cool co (wasn't there one or two tech21'ers on the board at one point?) and an email to tech support might get some suggested courses of action (from qualified persons, no less lol).

good luck

Just hung up from speaking to Lloyd at Tech 21. We covered all the bases. He suggested that I go through all combinations of signal chain again. with fresh batteries and also trying an outside power supply.

If that didn't work I asked if it was worth taking it in locally. He said 'no' as they would probably end up calling them anyways.

Funny fact... he said, fully 25% of the products returned to him for a 'look see' work perfectly upon arrival at the factory.

He joked that they might be getting homesick... lol

I can relate... all our IT guy has to do sometimes is stand behind us when we're showing him a problem on a PC and foof... no error messages.

All in all what a good guy. You don't run into too many like Lloyd in these days of 'customer service'. More like dis-service in a lot of businesses.

Those Tech21 guys are top shelf.
