diablo175 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Can it be done? Any pitfalls or issues to watch out for? Not sure of the material used for binding.
murkat Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Sure.there always be a seam, unless, huge thick coats of poly applied...
mc2 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I've got a Gibby Les Paul that was custom ordered w/o rear binding and the factory painted over the rear binding when they mistakenly bound it...slight scratch on rear revealed it. Original owner hadn't even noticed Gibson cheated...they had told him they redid the guitar when he saw pics of it unfinished and they had bound the rear. There are no telltale lines in the finish yet around the binding but it's only 10 years old.
