Stomp box/foot stomp recommendations

Looking for something small and light enough to go busking with. Tried building one, but sound left much to be desired.

Anybody recommend something along these lines?

you mean like "stomp my foot and have it thump"? How about a small self-powered amp, with a mic plugged in (obviously you have to get the mic up to the right level)..tape mic to leg (pointed down towards your ankle). stomp..thump.

One of my fave live bands BonePony does this for songs where noone plays drums. Of course, it's running into the sound board, not a mobile busking setup.

Solidly built, the active preamp makes it easy to interface with most anything, skid pad on the bottom. I've even used it as a drum machine trigger. You'd have a hard time building this at this price.

Thanks for the "head's up" on that one Tom. You're right - a guy'd have a hard time building one that cheap. I did construct a box that I put the guts of an old passive mic in, looked fine, but sounded like butt.
