Hamerhack Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Inspired by the Paul Stanley thread...Anybody know the fate of the "look at the flame on that one" '59 Spinal Tap LP?
velorush Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Jim Klein (on MLP) has some history of it here, and some additional comments follow.
Hamerhack Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Jim Klein (on MLP) has some history of it here, and some additional comments follow. Thanks! Cool story.Another "one that got away". He says Norman's doubled the price, but I wonder what that price was?
greenfreak Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 FWIW........I published the Vintage Guitar Calendar from 1990 to 2002 and I shot a lot of Norman's guitars in the 1998 and 1999 Vintage Guitar Calendars. The 1999 edition had three sunburst Les Pauls on the cover, none which were extremely flamey. Norm did tell me a funny story about selling EVH a SB LP and getting a call in the middle of the night from a very intoxicated EVH claiming the PAF's had been switched.........ahhh...the life of a vintage dealer dealing with rock stars.....sheesh!!
crunchee Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Isn't EVH the guy who took a belt sander to a dot-neck 335, and sawed a chunk out of his Ibanez Destroyer? If all he did about or to the LP was drunk dial, the guitar got off lucky.
