Last year me, my brother and a couple buddies of mine did a road trip to the Bourbon Trail. One of the souvenirs I brought back was an unfinished stave from a bourbon barrel.
As many of you know, the inside of a bourbon barrel is charred to help give bourbon it's taste and color as it ages.
So the question is, what can I use to put a clear coat on this board so the char won't get all over everything the board comes in contact with (e.g. my hands or the hands of anyone who touches it?). Should I spray (or brush) some clear lacquer on it? Any other tips?
