geoff_hartwell Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Hey Fellas,I have a workhorse shure sm57 that has a problem. The tiny screw that holds in the female XLR jack to the mic housing appears to be gone. Mic works fine, but the whole jack wants to come out of the housing when you unplug a cable.Anybody have this dilemma and/or know where to get the replacements?
Bloozguy Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 You can probably order one directly from Shure or through one of their dealers. If the microphone is a real beater, they have a flat rate repair/replacement program that will get you a brand new one for $50 or $60.
RichF Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Should be a standard sized set screw. You could cannibalize one from a bad mic cable. If you're friendly with a local studio they may have some spares that they could give you.
