Is there such a thing as a six-inline Phantom without a Kahler?

I've been on this board since 2000, and if I've seen one, I don't remember it. Maybe with a Floyd, but not with a sustain block tremolo.

And what are the necks like on the mid-80s Phantoms? I had an '85 Vector, and it was like a Gibson slim taper, but a bit more rounded. A later set-neck Chapparal was about that deep, but with a lot more shoulder to it. Kinda like a Mirage.

Glenn Tipton's orginal GT was six-in-line with a SB-Trem. I have seen several with Floyds (later ones) and I think possibly one with a fixed sustain block.

But anything other than a Kahler is pretty rare.

I have an 84 GT with a very flat/wide-neck. Another is the average Hamer shape for the time, rounder, a slightly flattened D-shape. They vary, in other words.

Yeah, now I've seen two old ones with FRs, and a few new ones with a fixed SB.

For me, an A5 6I with the SB Trem would be ideal, just for the more Fender-y feel. And truth-be-told, I just love the look. Combine the look with the versatility and now I wonder just why I never bought a Phantom when used Hamers flowed like water. I guess at that time I just needed a guitar with a good bridge pickup. Sigh.

I think the rounder, slightly flattened D-shape is what was on my '85 Vector. It sure wasn't wide/flat. My Chap was an '88 Elite, so it probably got something different that hung around into the 90s, because my Mirage Maple Top and Daytona both had very similar feel. Kind of like a flattened-C. Not real deep, but large shoulders made for a feel I didn't get along with.

At least the CFO can be content in the fact that if a rare 6I headstock and SB Tremolo came up for sale it would probably be too expensive for me to swing it.
