Wayne Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I'm selling my 1996 Tone King Continental head and cab. The two pieces are in just about perfect condition, literally about the same as when I first purchased them new. They've never been played in a smoky environment and in fact, have rarely left my house except for a couple of high-end performances. I play it monthly to keep the caps in good shape but when I play out, I invariably take a small combo amp. This sale includes the original two-button footswitch plus red covers for the head and cab that my wife made, which have always stayed on the amp when it is not being played. The paint on the footswitch has faded a bit for some reason. Here are some pictures: Here are the specs from Mark Bartel's Tone King website: 40W output power (switchable to 20W when lead channel is selected) 4x6V6 output tubes Two preamp channels Head and matching 2x12 speaker cabinet Tube-driven spring reverb Tremolo This is an absolutely brilliant amp that is no longer produced. I'm sure one of the reasons is that it is covered in expensive, padded naugahyde. It gives the amp a lush, richness that tolex can't match. I am interested in getting fair market price for this historic piece in mint condition. My research indicates the market price to be about $2,999. These are very rare pieces that don't come up for sale often. One just sold on ebay for $3,000 on December 20th. I am currently entertaing reasonable offers for the amp so let me know if you want to throw your hat in the ring.. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Wayne
ArnieZ Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 So are you asking $3000 or are you looking for offers? ArnieZ
