Menehune Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Congrats, woodpile! Please give playing impressions after you've spent some time with it. And thanks a whole bunch, eBay, for not sending me notification of this Daytona like I asked you to.
medfox323 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 The pups are Duncan APS-1s on the Daytonas.

And thanks a whole bunch, eBay, for not sending me notification of this Daytona like I asked you to. The Daytona showed up in good order and I finally had some time to play it. Overall, I love the guitar but you gotta see this case........... Actually the case came with a bunch of goofy stickers on it that were no fun to clean off. One of them though was a Lindy Fralin pickups sticker which leads me to wonder if that's what’s in the Daytona. Will definitely check that out next time I change strings and can pull the pick guard. For how it sounds, you can check out a couple of tunes here (fair warning / extreme mediocrity alert hereby issued): http://www.soundclick.com/html5/v3/player.cfm?type=single&songid=13008240&q=hi I'm still looking for the tone sweet spots with the limited gear I have. Definitely a keeper.
Menehune Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Wow. If you used the Daytona for all the electric guitar parts across those four songs, then it certainly has a wider tonal range available than I expected. Now I definitely wants me one. Didn't hear any extreme mediocrity. Maybe you posted someone else's tunes? =)

The third one is all acoustic but the last one does have a T51 I used to have and wish I still did. I believe the Daytona could sound a ton better if I could buy all the amps and effects I want. I guess I'll never know.
