Guitar stores in Birmingham, AL

As like in my sister thread I'd like to know if there are any cool guitar stores in Birmingham, AL and vicinity. AGain, I am looking for second hand, vintage, outside the box places not the Guitar Centers etc.

It really depends on what you are looking for but the short answer is meh.  There are some OK stores in Bham, but nothing to get excited about.   Bailey Brothers is the largest and resembles the GC model.  For acoustics there are two pretty cool shops.  Homewood Music and Fretted Instruments.   Highland Music is probably the best all round shop and can be hit or miss based on inventory.

+1 on Highland as the best shot for cool stuff. Last I heard, they also offered refinishing services in addition to repair.
