Hamerhack Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Hey, there... a Longtime Lurker and bedroom hack here.My old college roomate went to see Cream at MSG last Oct. He got me a T-Shirt and is holding it hostage until I come up there with my Artist Custom and Rivera Fandango.(Back in college, he had his double bass Rogers drums and I had an Ampeg V4 and 4x12 in our dorm room! Gibson Marauder (since given to my son) was my guitar then) (Still have the Ampeg, too)Anyhoo... the Rivera Fandango (55 watt tube amp) is pretty heavy. Is it okay to leave it in the car overnight if it's cold out, or should I take it into the hotel? Thanks!
BCR Greg Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 The temperature won't be an issue. THE LOCALS will.Take it inside, so you won't have to go thru amp loss syndrome. And welcome to the family.
Hamerhack Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 Thanks, Greg...I was kinda thinking that. I think I'll have my son lug it in! Condensation isn't a potential problem?
BCR Greg Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Naw. All the stuff used by huge tours are carried around in trucks without heat. The GUITARS, on the other hand.... Some pics of Rick Nielsen's guitars that I took backstage last summer... Guitars feel the pain.
Hamerhack Posted February 2, 2006 Author Posted February 2, 2006 Yikes! The Hamer was never going to spend the night in the car! My original plan was to bury the amp under all the junk my wife and daughter will inevitably bring. (3 nights on the road... better bring everything!) I guess I'll just put the amp in last and unload it first. This drummer has a recording studio in his house. He's very good, I'm so-so at best. He thinks after 30 years I'm gonna finally be able to play some Mahavishnu Orchestra! (I am frantically practicing "The Dance of Maya", but I think I'll try and keep things "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" simple.)By the way, Greg, thanks for all your advice, bench reports, and photos! I appropriated a blue quilt Studio Custom for my desktop.
Caddie Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Steve and I spend some time with ours... Freebird?......AGAIN????!!!!!!!!!!
Mad Man Mike Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Man can Steve and Greg play a mean guitar anyone that has never seen them play have got to agree with me. If you have not seen them play you have got to take some time to see them. They play at the Ye Old Ale House Mech. PA
