Bridge and tail pieces on Newports

Question

Can anyone tell me if the 2000 Newport's used Tone Pros, Gotoh or Wlkinson bridge and tail hardware? What would be the correct TP set on a USA Newport if I wanted to replace it with the locking Tone Pros tail and bridge? Sorry if this is a redundant question as I didn't have time to search every Newport entry!

Thanks!

My 2001 Artist Custom has a Schaller TOM bridge (GTM model, I believe) and Gotoh stop bar tailpiece. Tonepros hardware didn't become OEM until at least 5 years later. As for which TP set would fit, measure the distance from center to center on the mounting posts for the bridge and the same measurement for the tailpiece. Make sure the hardware you buy is the right diameter and metric threading for the posts so you don't have to pull the threaded inserts. Enjoy!

Thanks Josh! I am not an expert of the nuts and bolts on Hamer Hardware. I will ask the Tone Pros folks about the sizing based on Schaller and Gotoh measurements respectively. I think they are somewhat standard to Gibson TOM sizes with small posts on the bridge etc?

My 2001 was a mix between the bridge and the tail.  I don't remember which was which.  From what I've gleaned on this forum, there may be no hard and fast rule.  The metric dimensions are ever so slightly different than the SAE dimensions.  I would advise to buy where you can return the items if they don't fit your guitar.
